FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING: A Collection of Artists' Dolls

Red Nose Studio is currently showing a number of sculptures in the Figuratively Speaking show which opened at the ArtWorks Gallery in Cincinnati, OH earlier this month. The exhibition is comprised entirely of doll-sized figurative work with a broad range of styles and conceptual approaches. The works acknowledge stereotypes while pushing past them to delve into abstract concepts of stereotypical form and meaning.
Figuratively Speaking will overlap a few other choice events at ArtWorks. Until the end of the year, ArtWorks is displaying the SECRET ArtWorks Postcards. Starting December 9th, the ArtWorks Gallery will hold its annual holiday sale, Stocking Stuff, as well as a reception for Figuratively Speaking. This one-day-only-sale and reception will be from noon until 5:00 pm.

In addition to Red Nose Studio's work, the exhibition includes work by: Emily Caito, Jen Edwards, Michael Everett, Nina Gaby, Cody Goodin, Rhonda Gushee, Jenny Harada, Pam Kravetz, Ruth Marks, Elizabeth Marten, Gloria McConnaghy, Greg Penner, Amy Rich, Micha Robertson, Mark Shafer, Katie Swartz, Jenny Ustick, Cathy Wise, and ArtWorks Summer Apprentices.

The show runs through December 22, 2006 with a special reception Saturday, December 9th from 12 - 5 pm.
