			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">Andrew Hem joins celebrated international artists Edward Walton Wilcox, Shark Toof and Chor Boogie for <a href="http://www.laartmachine.com/voxhumana/" target="_blank">Vox Humana</a>, a large-scale, live art installation presented by Los Angeles-based arts organization, <a href="http://laartmachine.com/index.php" target="_blank">L.A. Art Machine</a>. Part of the <a href="http://www.laartshow.com/index.html" target="_blank">16th Annual Los Angeles Art Fair</a>, Vox Humana takes place over 5 days and covers more than 500 square feet of canvas, inviting visitors to take a firsthand look at the esoteric world of the artistic creative process. It runs January 19th through 23rd at the L.A. Convention Center.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">Andrew Hem is exhibiting with <a href="http://lebasseprojects.com/" target="_blank">LeBasse Projects</a> at <a href="http://www.beyondedenartfair.com/" target="_blank"><em>Beyond Eden</em></a>, a multi-gallery event celebrating Los Angeles&#8217; contemporary art scene. This is the second edition of the event, with last year&#8217;s <em>Beyond Eden</em> exhibition drawing over 5,000 visitors over the course of one weekend. This year&#8217;s event showcases the work of seven galleries, including Carmichael Gallery, C.A.V.E. Gallery, Copro Gallery, Crewest, La Luz De Jesus, LeBasse Projects and Thinkspace. It also includes live-painting demonstrations and the LA premiere of Humble Pictures&#8217; film, <em>New Brow</em>.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em>Beyond Eden</em> takes at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, a historic 10,000 square foot facility located on the sprawling grounds of Olive Hill in the Barnsdall Art Park. The park overlooks the city of Los Angeles and is also home to the famous Frank Lloyd Wright Hollyhock House and Arts Complex. It takes place October 9th and 10th, 2010.</p>

The show is inspired by the history and tragedy of Andrew&#8217;s native Cambodia and the idea of <em>what if</em>, where one event can result in two significantly different outcomes. Andrew&#8217;s paintings imagine a Cambodia where the violent Khmer Rouge regime had never taken power and how the lives of it&#8217;s people would have been altered. The show runs until Saturday, February 13th, 2010.</p>
