Bella Pilar illustrated for San Francisco’s Union Square Ice Rink. Last year the outdoor rink, which is operated by Willy Bietak Productions and surrounds the Macy’s holiday tree, attracted 55 000 skaters over the holiday period. Bella’s illustrations could be seen on outdoor signage surrounding the rink, as well as on the building that houses the zamboni.

Bella Pilar has done five more illustrations for the online magazine Savoir Flair. The magazine showcases the hottest must-haves and coolest trends in fashion and beauty and is a perfect fit for Bella’s savvy, sweet and sexy girls. Bella Pilar illustrated for Galison’s Love Letters diary. The diary is 192 pages, printed with non-toxic inks and comes with a hot pink lock. It is recommended for ages 4 and up and is available now.

Bella Pilar’s illustrated character, Fleur, made her television debut in two animated spots airing in Italy during this holiday season. The character is the centerpiece of Italian cosmetic retailer La Gardenia’s new brand effort, Fleur. The line debuted in Milan last month. The campaign also includes print ads in Italy’s top magazines, such as Vanity Fair, La Repubblica delle Donne, Io Donna and Anna, among others. Click here to watch the ads.

Bella Pilar will be part of the fourth annual Power In Numbers show at Nucleus Gallery in Alhambra, CA. This year’s show had 100 international and local artists create 5 x 7 inch art in the medium and theme of their choosing. Each piece is priced at $100 and a selection of artworks will be auctioned with a portion of the night’s sales benefiting the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles and their efforts in aiding California wildfire victims. The show runs until Monday, December 28th, 2009.

Bella Pilar’s illustrations are the centerpiece of Italian cosmetic retailer La Gardenia’s new brand effort, Fleur. Bella’s illustrated character embodies the essence of Fleur – a woman who is chic, confident, and aware of herself and her femininity.

La Gardenia flew Bella to Milan for the launch of the campaign, which includes television spots and print ads in Italy’s top magazines, including Vanity Fair, La Repubblica delle Donne, Io Donna and Anna, among others. The press were introduced to Fleur by an invitation to her ‘home,’ a suite entirely decked out a la Fleur, which looks quite a la Bella to us!

Bella Pilar joins Ali Gallagher, Danielle DeFoe and Rebecca Friedman for Wanderlust. This group show opens on Saturday, December 12th and a portion of all proceeds goes to benefit Inner-City Arts.

Bella Pilar is contributing artwork to Animal Instinct at The ARTery Gallery in Costa Mesa, CA.  The show will feature work from over 25 artists and will include illustration, paintings, prints (including etching & letterpress), graffiti-influenced work, sculpture, crochet, photography, plush and more. Eighty percent of all proceeds go to the Humane Society of the United States. Fittingly, all pieces will include at least one animal.

The opening reception takes place on Saturday, November 7th, 2009 and will feature a live painting demonstration by Yuki Miyazaki, prizes from Urban Decay and Humanitaire and a photobooth from Visual Adhesive.
