Bella Pilar was recently commissioned by LCX stores of Hong Kong to do a series of illustrations for a beauty campaign. LCX, which stands for Lifestyle Concept X, represents a revolutionary retail store concept, combining the best of boutique and department store shopping experiences into one world. The photos below show what some of the in-store signage looked like.

Bella Pilar has been featured in the current issue of XFUNS, a Taiwanese magazine that discusses international trends in creativity and design. Her work appears in a special themed issue dedicated to fashion illustration. Other artists featured include David Downton, Stina Persson and Ali Douglas.

October is Breast Cancer Month and the latest Bella Pilar illustrated cards to be found at PAPYRUS include a box set of notecards to help benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The illustrated pink box contains 20 blank notecards, 5 cards each of 4 designs and matching pink lined envelopes. The current issue of Self magazine featured the cards in the article ‘Pink Power’ which raises awareness about breast cancer and breast cancer research.

The cards are available at Papyrus stores nationwide.

Bella Pilar has won a Maggie award, 2007, in the “Best Series of Editorial Illustrations/Trade” category for “Dream a Little Dream.” The artwork was done for the March 2006 issue of Nail Pro magazine.

Bella Pilar appears in Gingko Press’ “The Age of Feminine Drawing.” The book highlights the prevalence and importance of the female hand in our modern culture and showcases the works of some of the most talented male and female artists in the world.

Bella Pilar has now completed a third illustration for Bloomingdale’s department stores. The fashionable  illustrations for the shoe and bag departments were used for print ads in New York newspapers as well as direct mail campaigns and in-store signage.

Four limited editions vintage style T-shirts featuring Bella Pilar’s illustrations are now available in-store and online.

Target left her artist signature intact on the artwork, added a custom ‘Bella Pilar’ logo to the outside of each T, and featured an extensive ‘tagless’ artist bio on the inside collar of the T’s.

Bella Pilar has recently completed illustrations for Tiffany & Co. to be used on ‘By Invitation Only’ special collection and events. The illustrations featured below were fora special best customer ladies shopping event, a cocktail ring event, and a blue and green gemstone event.

In the March 14th, 2007 article ‘Is the Pen Mightier Than the Photo?’ printed in New York’s The L Magazine, Bella Pilar is referenced along with a few other fashion illustrators as an example of “fashion’s movement … into the realm of the fantastical”. An illustration of Bella’s is featured as a lead image in both the print and web editions of the magazine.

Bella Pilar is featured in the February issue of trendy Domino Magazine - The Guide to Living in Style. The article, a recurring series on buying art, guides readers in buying fashion illustration to hang in their homes and showcases the work of eight highly regarded international illustrators including Mats Gustafson and Izak Zenou.

The Domino website also displays additional work by the artists including Bella’s.
