Now Representing Charles Wilkin

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

We are pleased to announce the addition of talented artist Charles Wilkin to Magnet Reps. Charles’ multi-disciplinary background shines through in his signature mixed-media and digitally assisted collage illustration work. His inventive combinations of handmade and creatively appropriated visual elements are simultaneously clean and messy, old and new, consciously communicative and beautifully abstract.

Having started the successful design firm Automatic Art and Design and the font foundry Prototype (both are still going strong) in 1994, Charles has grown creatively in directions rare for many illustrators. It’s no surprise his illustration variously includes handlettering and type of all kinds and has a well developed design sensibility. What is refreshing, is the serendipitous appearance of his work with fragments of drawn, painted, lettered, graphic and photographic elements wavering between smart mid-century and ‘this century’ aesthetics.

Take a look at his work, we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do. Welcome Charles!
