Ponzi Featured in Il Post

The Italian newspaper Il Post recently published a feature on Emiliano Ponzi that details his career trajectory and describes his latest projects.  Focusing on his recent monograph 10×10, the article plugs the ongoing exhibition at the Libraria Extemporanea in Milan.

Ponzi Wins Two Society of Illustrators Gold Medals

We are proud to announce that Society of Illustrators New York awarded two gold medals to Emiliano Ponzi in the institutional and moving images categories.  The first piece, titled Evil Apple Core, was commissioned by EMI Music for Valerio Millefoglie’s album I miel migliori amici immaginari.  The second piece, which competed in Society of Illustrators’ first moving images competition, was completed for Amnesty International.  See the full length video here: Voices for Freedom. Emiliano also received merit awards in the following categories: Sequential Art, Book, and Editorial (2).

Ponzi Interviewed in La Repubblica

Italian newspaper La Repubblica interviewed Emiliano Ponzi for their review of his monograph 10×10.  In the interview, Emiliano marvels at the way modern technology allows him to work with clients around the world and see his work published in a variety of contexts.  When discussing the tight deadlines that he must sometimes face, Emiliano says: “Hunger sharpens wits and it sharpens pencils.”

Emiliano Ponzi’s monograph 10 x 10 shows how the Milanese artist created a name for himself in the Italian and American press.  The book contains over 70 illustrations from clients like The New York Times, The Economist, Penguin Books, Le Monde, La Repubblica, and Mondadori.  The book also includes texts by Nicole Dalton and an introduction from Nicholas Blechman of the New York Times.

Ponzi for Doctors Without Borders

Emiliano Ponzi was one of several international artists asked to contribute artwork to an auction benefiting Doctors Without Borders. The auction, which was organized by Sergio Cecchini, the Communications Director for Doctors Without Borders Italy, coincides with the charity’s 40th anniversary and was part of the Internazionale Festival in Emiliano’s hometown of Ferrara, Italy.
