Emiliano Ponzi illustrated for the OpEd section of The New York Times. The black and white illustration accompanies an article about the break-up of Pakistan and appears in the Thursday, January 31st edition.
The Break-Up of Pakistan
Emiliano Ponzi illustrated for The New York Times’ Sunday Book Review section. His illustration accompanied a review of Frances Itani’s Remembering the Bones. Illustrator Juliette Borda’s work also appeared in that issue for an article in the Travel section about the Fishtown district of Philadelphia.
Emiliano Ponzi, Red Nose Studio and Nate Williams have all been recognized by the Society of Illustrators 50. Emiliano had four pieces selected, while Red Nose Studio and Nate each had five, with Nate winning a Silver medal for his silkscreen piece that originally appeared in Zeke Bazaar 2, a large silkscreen book by Elzo Durt. The winning pieces will be shown at the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators in New York from January 30th to April 26th, 2008 and be published in Illustrators 50: America’s Original Annual of Illustration. Emiliano Ponzi appeared in the OpEd section of The New York Times on Wednesday, December 5th, 2007. His illustration accompanied an article, Junior Fear Abroad, about the stereotypes associated with being an American student traveling abroad.

Emiliano Ponzi, Red Nose Studio, Gordon Wiebe, Charles Wilkin and Nate Williams were all selected for 3×3 Magazine’s Professional Show. Most of the artists got at least two pieces in and they won in either the advertising, editorial, institutional, book, gallery or unpublished categories. All the artists will be published in the 3×3 Illustration Annual No. 4 due out in early 2008.

Shawn Barber, Red Nose Studio and Emiliano Ponzi have been recognized by Communication Arts 48. Shawn and Emiliano each had one piece selected, while Red Nose Studio had two- including “Bill the Monster,” which was entered by the kind people at Reader’s Digest. Thanks, guys! Nine beautiful illustrations by eight Magnet Reps artists were chosen by the recent American Illustration jury to appear in American Illustration 26. Appearing in the book (available November 2007) and website are Gordon Wiebe, Emiliano Ponzi, Graham Roumieu and Red Nose Studio. Appearing solely on the website are Nate Williams (2), Charles Wilkin, Alexander Blue and Marguerite Sauvage. A great year for a talented group of artists.
