Wiebe at About Glamour Gallery

Gordon Wiebe will be exhibiting at the About Glamour Gallery in Brooklyn. The show, curated by Mari Kojima, is called 2 Senses and also features pieces by Jessica Cannon, Jon Han and Julian Swaney, among others. The show is comprised of work derived from music and viewers will be able to listen to the music each piece was inspired by. Gord will be showing the piece he did for the cover of Belgian band Guernica’s album Who Are Your Songs For? The show opens on Friday, March 7th and runs until Sunday, March 30th, 2008.

Wiebe for Mark Murphy at Art Now Fair Miami

Gordon Wiebe is showing artwork in the fifth installment of Mark Murphy’s Know art exhibition to be held at this year’s Art Now Fair in Miami.

Art Now Fair will showcase approximately 50 different galleries from across the United States and internationally who have shown a commitment to exhibiting cutting edge, emerging, and thought-provoking art. The Fair will be held December 6th through 9th, 2007 at the Claremont Hotel.

Gordon Wiebe has done the cover art for Belgian band Guernica. The album is called Who Are Your Songs For? and will be released on December 9th on Vlas Vegas Records.

Gordon Wiebe in the PEP Show, New York

Gordon Wiebe is showing work in PEP gallery’s newest illustration show Downright, curated by Jashar Awan. In anticipation of the December release of Taschen’s Illustration Now 2, in which Awan is featured, Jashar put together a show of his favorite contemporary illustrators. The outcome is a gathering of 40 artists pulled together in one spot, PEP. From highly renowned artists to rising stars, the show is not to be missed.

Magnet Reps Artists in 3 X 3 Professional Show

Emiliano Ponzi, Red Nose Studio, Gordon Wiebe and Nate Williams were all selected for 3×3 Magazine’s Professional Show. Most of the artists got at least two pieces in and they won in either the advertising, editorial, institutional, book, gallery or unpublished categories. All the artists will be published in the 3×3 Illustration Annual No. 4 due out in early 2008.

Eight in American Illustration 26

Eight beautiful illustrations by seven Magnet Reps artists were chosen by the recent American Illustration jury to appear in American Illustration 26. Appearing in the book (available November 2007) and website are Gordon Wiebe, Emiliano Ponzi, Graham Roumieu and Red Nose Studio. Appearing solely on the website are Nate Williams (2), Alexander Blue and Marguerite Sauvage. A great year for a talented group of artists.

“An Illustrated World” Featured Illustrators

RCTV, Venezuelan television’s pioneer broadcaster is producing a one-hour documentary on the best illustrators in the world. After an exhaustive search of worldwide illustrators they have invited Gordon Wiebe, Marguerite Sauvage, Bella Pilar, Emiliano Ponzi and Graham Roumieu to be a part of this exciting production.

The collaboration will feature illustrations and voice or video excerpts from each artist discussing inspiration or techniques.
