Barber’s Goat Wins 2 Gold Addy’s

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Art for a Pittsburgh Playhouse Repertory Company poster commissioned by Brunner in Pittsburgh has won two gold Addy’s which are local advertising awards. One award was in the category of ‘Advertising for the Arts: Poster’, and the other in ‘Elements of Advertising: Illustration’. The striking poster was commissioned for the Edward Albee play The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, an unusual story of a failing marriage in which the husband falls in love and has an affair with . . . yes, you guessed it – a goat.

Congratulations Maria and everyone at Brunner – good luck at the regionals!

Barber Honored by WSJ Obama Portrait Commission

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Adding to the joy of this day, Shawn Barber was commissioned to paint a portrait of our 44th president, Barack Obama by America’s oldest national newspaper, The Wall Street Journal. This beautifully rendered oil painting is featured at full page size on the cover of today’s Inauguration Day special section.

We are always proud of Shawn’s accomplishments and to have stood alongside him, and all our artists, while they have grown in their success and creativity. This particular commission is an honor we will remember fondly.

For those that would like a copy for posterity, act fast! The issue is sure to be a collector’s item and is already disappearing from newsstands worldwide.
