Red Nose Studio Ad Campaign for Epson

Friday, October 26th, 2007

We’ve been patiently waiting until the EPSON ad campaign featuring Red Nose Studio launched so we could tell people to look out for it. It seems the day is finally here as the ad has been spotted in both HOW Magazine and MacWorld this month.

The campaign titled ‘Now Your Ideas Can Look As Good In Your Hand As They Do In Your Head’ promotes the EPSON pro series 3800 and 4800 printers and features some of the top creatives out there today. The concept explodes Chris’ creative process stage by stage, and element by element in a purely visual interpretation that includes a great shot of Chris himself (by photographer Sam Yocum). Online, an interview with Chris expands on the print ads with more information about process, creativity and the business.

Barber Teaching DVD Available

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Shawn Barber has an educational DVD called Foundation Painting with Shawn Barber now available for sale through the Massive Black website. The DVD is one of a series of (at this point) three educational DVD’s that feature both instructional information as well as behind the scenes insight into the artists themselves. The DVD’s were released jointly by conceptart.org and Massive Black, Inc. and the other artists in the series are Peter Koenig and Mirco Djurdjevic. These releases give artists everywhere the opportunity to see into the lives and creative process of some of the most fascinating leaders in the industry.

In the 165 minute DVD, Shawn reveals his unique approach to the art of painting. While watching him work, students will learn about many of the basic elements of painting including drawing, composition, color, form, and value. Shawn also demonstrates many of the important lessons one must understand before even picking up a brush: stretching canvas, color mixing, palette setup, and choosing the right medium. Also included is a behind-the-scenes interview that covers his personal work, career, and what it takes to become a successful artist.
