Ana Bagayan Joins Magnet Reps

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Born in Armenia, Ana Bagayan moved to the US at the age of six and has been living and working in Southern California for a number of years. An illustration graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, her dreamy scenes merge reality fluidly with fantasy in an ‘Analand’ where fairy tale themes influence characters with unexpected results, and sweetness often comes packed with a punch. Beautifully rendered, her child-like figures, animals and toys bring powerful concepts to life. Little surprises in every illustration leave you wondering, “What does it all mean?”. Does it always have to matter? Ana’s sweetly subversive work has been catching the attention of the industry influential – with a recent commission by Crispin Porter + Bogusky for the Young Guns Awards ad campaign, as well as a Young Guns nomination for herself.

Ana’s clients include Diesel, Honda, Spin, BMG Records, Rolling Stone, GQ, Mighty Fine and the Sydney Symphony.

She has exhibited at Billy Shire Gallery, Varnish Fine Art and Subtext Gallery, and has had two solo shows at La Luz de Jesus.
