Bagayan at Subtext

Ana Bagayan showed the Kokeshi doll she did with Ara Devejian at Subtext Gallery in San Diego from November 3rd to December 17th, 2007. Over 75 artists were represented including Catalina Estrada, S.Britt, Audrey Kawasaki, Gina & Matt, Ana Juan and Marcos Chin.

Bagayan at Varnish Fine Art

Ana Bagayan exhibited work in Varnish Fine Art’s group show, Duck Soup. The show opened on Thursday, June 14th, 2007 and also featured Michael Beck, Justin DeGarmo and Joseph Daniel Fiedler.

Bagayan in La Luz Everything Show

Ana Bagayan exhibited work in La Luz de Jesus Gallery’s fifth annual juried group exhibition, Everything But the Kitchen Sync. The huge exhibition featured some of the most relevant artists working today, including illustrators, tattoo artists, scenic painters, students and animators. Other artists that participated in the show were Mark Rydon, The Clayton Brothers and Tim Biskup. The show ran all through March 2004.

Bagayan at Hemphill Fine Arts

Ana Bagayan exhibited work in Hemphill Fine Art’s group show, Tug of War. Tug of War was curated by Annie Adjchavanich and showcased some of the most recognized artists working in a style often referred to as “Lowbrow” or “Pop Surrealism.” Some of the other artists in the show included Scott Brooks, Gary Baseman and Yumiko Kayukawa. The show ran from March 3rd to April 7th, 2007.

Bagayan Receives Young Guns Nomination

Ana Bagayan’s illustrations for Daylesford were nominated for a Young Guns award in the Best Illustration in Print category.

Young Guns was created in 2000 and is the only international advertising awards in the world for creatives and students under the age of 30.

Ponzi, Red Nose & Williams Recognized by Society of Illustrators 50

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Emiliano Ponzi, Red Nose Studio and Nate Williams have all been recognized by the Society of Illustrators 50. Emiliano had four pieces selected, while Red Nose Studio and Nate each had five, with Nate winning a Silver medal for his silkscreen piece that originally appeared in Zeke Bazaar 2, a large silkscreen book by Elzo Durt. The winning pieces will be shown at the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators in New York from January 30th to April 26th, 2008 and be published in Illustrators 50: America’s Original Annual of Illustration. Congratulations guys!

Bagayan Wins Gold Ozzie Award

Ana Bagayan’s illustrations for Bloomberg magazine won a Gold Medal in the Best Use of an Illustration category at New York’s Folio:Show.

Catalina Estrada for Lexus

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Catalina Estrada’s gorgeous new Lexus ad will be running in the January 2008 issue of the Spanish language edition of National Geographic, afterward it will run in Bello Magazine, Hispanic Magazine and ALMA.

In addition, Lexus and the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) in Long Beach California invited Catalina to be part of a Lexus sponsored event on Thursday, September 20th, 2007 at Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. The “Lexus wall” displayed the work of the three artists that worked on the national print campaign and the auction raised money for MOLAA.
