Ponzi for San Francisco Chronicle Insight Section

The San Francisco Chronicle’s Sunday Insight section just launched it’s new tabloid format and they asked Emiliano Ponzi to illustrate the first cover. The feature article, written by Thomas Gangale, explores the relationship between progressives and conservatives and ran on Sunday, February 24th.

Hem in dpi Magazine

After being featured in an issue of Taiwan’s XFUNS magazine, Andrew Hem was invited by dpi magazine (also published in Taiwan) to be featured in a recent issue. The 8-page spread featured an interview and several pieces of Andrew’s work.

Sauvage in Curvy 5

Marguerite Sauvage has artwork in Curvy 5, an art exhibit and book featuring 100 of the world’s best female artists. The book was created by the the people at YEN magazine, Australia’s #1 independent magazine for women. Other featured artists include Kat Von D, Kukula and Amy Sol, among others.

Sauvage in SF Weekly

Marguerite Sauvage was mentioned in an article in this week’s SF Weekly. The article is about Lowbrow art sales and features Marguerite’s illustration “Mother Nature” which originally appeared in Grafuck 3 and at the Nucleus Gallery in California. Other artists featured in the article include Dave Kinsey, Tara McPherson, Ian Francis and Jason Goad.

Estrada at Roq La Rue

Catalina Estrada is exhibiting in the group show, A Cabinet Of Natural Curiosities, at Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle, WA. The artists were asked to create works relating to animals, examining the reasons humans can treasure animals, turn them into symbols, and at the same time, inflict terrible cruelty upon them. Other artists in the show include: Femke Hiemstra, Travis Louie, Brian Despain, Amy Sol, Lisa Petrucci, Chris Ryniak, Chet Zar, Kozydan, Junko Mizumo, Liz McGrath, Kukula, Laura Plansker, Mark Frauenfelder, Christian Vanminnen, Mark Gleason, Nathan Ota, Sarah Joncas, Kamala Dolphin-Kingsley, John Brophy, Anthony Pontius, Jeremy Bennet, Jim Woodring, Heiko Muller and Javier S. Ortega. The show runs from Friday, February 8th to Saturday, March 1st, 2008.
