Catalina Estrada was invited by Tiempo BBDO (Barcelona) to participate in a campaign to raise awareness about violence against women. The campaign was sponsored by YO DONA, a section of Spain’s El Mundo newspaper, and acts as a preview to the Iberoamerican Festival of Publicity Communication.
The theme of Tiempo BBDO’s campaign was to have three posters art directed by men and illustrated by women. The idea was to show a very feminine and delicate illustration contrasted with curse words to show that violence against women often starts with verbal abuse and that women shouldn’t wait for the violence to turn physical before they seek help. The other illustrators that took part in the project are Carolina Melis and Nina Chakrabarti.
Seven other advertising and design agencies from Spain were also asked to participate in the campaign and people are invited to vote for their favorite online.
