Bigfoot: This Not Wake… TONIGHT!

The launch party for Graham Roumieu’s third Bigfoot book, Bigfoot: I not Dead, is taking place tonight, Thursday, May 15th, at The Gladstone Hotel Gallery in Toronto, ON. The party, which is billed Bigfoot: This Not Wake, will feature short eulogies delivered by Graham Roumieu, Douglas Bell, Michael Winter, Nathan Whitlock, Tim Beresford, Sean Cullen, Damian Rogers and Jeremy Keehn.

Bigfoot In the Press

Graham Roumieu’s third Bigfoot book, Bigfoot: I Not Dead, has received glowing reviews from Mark Medley at National Post and Paul Corupe at Rue Morgue magazine. You can catch the review in the Arts & Life section of today’s National Post and in the current issue of Rue Morgue.

The Walrus’ managing editor, Jared Bland, caught up with Bigfoot himself at his home in the woods. You can read the interview on The Walrus’ website now and Hannah Sung at CBC News also interviewed Graham about the release of his third book in the Bigfoot series.

Playford At SURTEX 2008

Jenn Playford will be exhibiting her work at SURTEX 2008. SURTEX is an annual show for selling and licensing art and design. It features over 400 exhibitors, including top artists, designers, studios and licensing firms in the following industries: decorative fabrics, linens and domestics, contract textiles, wall coverings, floor coverings, apparel textiles, stationery, greeting cards, giftwrap and other paper products, tabletop, giftware, housewares, toys, ceramics, packaging and publishing.

The show runs from Sunday, May 18th to Tuesday, May 20th at Javits Convention Centre in New York City.

Estrada for Anunciacao, Winter 2008

Catalina Estrada’s latest textile illustrations for Anunciacao can be seen in their newest collection, Tea Time: Winter 2008. This is the third time Catalina has collaborated with the Brazilian fashion label and they even featured her animated illustration on their website.

Sauvage at Nucleus

Marguerite Sauavge is exhibiting in the group show, La Femme, at Nucleus Gallery in Alhambra, CA. The show features a talented and diverse group of exclusively female illustrators and is meant to be a visual celebration of mothers, daughters and sisters everywhere. Other artists participating in the show include Amy Sol, Stina Persson, Junko Mizuno and Julie West, among others.

The show opens just in time for Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 10th and runs to Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008.
