Red Nose Studio for DNA Finland

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Red Nose Studio created a series of illustrations for DNA’s new national ad and marketing campaign. Based in Finland, DNA is a telecommunications company that offers customers cellular, cable and phone services. The series of illustrations feature a pink super-hero type DNA character that physically morphs into helpful tools for cell phone users. In various ads the character’s arms turn into scissors, a ladder and clippers, liberating the cell phone user from classic cell phone troubles. The campaign of print ads and collateral material will only be seen in Finland, but can also be viewed on the DNA website.

Sauvage for Rexona

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Marguerite Sauvage’s character illustrations for Rexona have been animated for a series of four TV commercials for their women’s skin care brand’s new deodorant. The commercials, which were animated by Passion Pictures (UK) and produced by Gorgeous Enterprises and Pioneer Productions, feature Marguerite’s paperdoll illustration exercising and looking for the perfect outfit all while coping with the pain of underarm friction and razor-burn. The charming and funny ads have been noticed by the ad community internationally and have recently been featured as a top select on Creativity Online’s Adcritic section, videospotnow.com, and youtube.com with links to view all the spots in the series.

Estrada in Fashion Wonderland

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Catalina Estrada is featured in Victionary’s new book, Fashion Wonderland: Uncover the Power of Illustration in Fashion, the follow-up to their previous book, Fashion Unfolding, which also featured Catalina’s work. This beautiful book studies the crucial role of illustration in fashion and shows what a powerful tool it can be by sharing examples from print, installation, interior decorating and from straight off the runway by both established names and emerging talents from around the globe. From preliminary concept sketches, to t-shirt graphics, eye-catching magazine ads and patterns on textiles, Fashion Wonderland contains hundreds of examples of fashion illustration and is meant to be an inspirational tool as much as a visual feast for anyone involved in the fashion or illustration world.

Fashion Wonderland is available through Victionary.
