Nate Williams was invited to create a pattern for a tote bag and limited edition print in honor of recruiting agency SESA Select’s 30th anniversary. They also published a book featuring the work of 30 different artists, including Nate.

Williams Lectures at SI NYC

Nate Williams will be lecturing at the Society of Illustrators in New York on Friday, February 19th, 2010. As the founder of illustrationmundo.com and a former art director himself, Nate will discuss the dynamics between art director and illustrator, how to ensure your work gets maximum exposure and the importance of being part of the illustration community, both online and off. The lecture will include a print signing and will be followed be a wine and cheese networking event for art directors and illustrators.

Bagayan’s T-Shirts for Planet Illogica

Ana Bagayan has two t-shirts available through Planet Illogica, an online creative community that includes all creative pursuits, from fine art, music, writing, acting, film-making and performing arts to programming, culinary arts, fashion, critical thinking and engineering. The site, which was founded by Mark Murphy, Tonny Sorensen and Ken Goldstein, seeks to inspire creative minded people to create, participate and contribute, mentoring others through inspiration.

Pilar Skates Into the Holidays

Bella Pilar illustrated for San Francisco’s Union Square Ice Rink. Last year the outdoor rink, which is operated by Willy Bietak Productions and surrounds the Macy’s holiday tree, attracted 55 000 skaters over the holiday period. Bella’s illustrations could be seen on outdoor signage surrounding the rink, as well as on the building that houses the zamboni.

Blue for The Burger Boys

Alexander Blue illustrated for JCW’s restaurant The Burger Boys. The restaurant serves good old-fashioned burgers, fries and milkshakes and is based in Utah. The illustration is part of a marketing and promotion campaign that includes menus, placemats and t-shirts.

Ana Bagayan is featured in Harry Saylor’s new book EdgyCute: From New-Pop to Low Brow and Back Again (Mark Batty Publisher). Harry Saylor, owner of Orbit Gallery, has assembled a group of 47 artists that exemplify the ‘EdgyCute’ aesthetic, where doe-eyed girls and animated desserts often come packed with a punch. Other artists featured in the book include Gary Baseman, Ryan Heshka, Brandi Milne, Motomichi Nakamura and Gary Taxali.

Red Nose + Ponzi for Illustration West 48

Red Nose Studio and Emiliano Ponzi had work accepted into the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles‘ annual exhibition. This year over 1200 pieces were entered. The winning pieces will be exhibited on the Illustration West 48 web site for two years and in a gallery show later this year. Congratulations go out to all!
