Estrada for Paulo Coelho’s Wisdom + Love

Catalina Estrada illustrated two new releases in collaboration with renowned author, Paulo Coelho. His 2011 Wisdom agenda and Love, a book of selected quotations, feature Catalina’s inspiring illustrations alongside Coelho’s profound insights on life and love, including passages from The Alchemist and his other titles.

Catalina has collaborated with Coelho twice before, illustrating for his 2009 Joy agenda and 2010 Inspirations agenda. The line is produced by Barcelona-based literary agency, Sant Jordi Asociados, and has been marketed in 19 countries with more than 2.5 million copies being sold to date.

Bagayan for Weirdo Noir

Ana Bagayan’s artwork is featured in Chronicle Books’ recently released anthology, Weirdo Noir. The book is a follow-up to Matt Dukes Jordan’s 2005 release, Weirdo Deluxe, and features the work of 30 Low Brow artists who have embraced the dark side, employing gothic themes in their art. It also includes: Glenn Barr, Bob Dob, Tara McPherson and Shaq, among others.

The Elle collection features Marguerite’s signature fashion forward females rendered in delicate linework contrasted with bold pops of color. Red Nose Speaks @ Ball State

Red Nose Studio illustrator, Chris Sickels, will be speaking at Indiana’s Ball State University this Friday, September 24th, at 1:00pm. His talk will focus on his work and how it evolved once he was out of school. Afterward, he will be giving a lo-fi stop-motion demo to the animation department.

Sauvage Re-Defines the Line, Again

Marguerite Sauvage is featured in Redefining the Line: Art Nouveau & the Female Figure, the 107-page follow-up to last year’s exhibition at the Cal State Fullerton Main Art Gallery. Like the exhibition, the book investigates the influence of Art Nouveau on contemporary artists who successfully merge the fine art and commercial art worlds. Featuring the work of Pomme Chan, Deanne Cheuk, Naja Conrad-Hansen, Aya Kato, Pandarosa, Marguerite Sauvage, Alberto Seveso, Sonya Suhariyan, Yoshi Tajima and Eveline Tarunadjaja, as well as essays by the exhibition curators, Alexandra Duron and Sarah Strozza, it is a stunning record of the well-received and highly-lauded exhibition.

Ponzi for The New York Times Knowledge Network

Emiliano Ponzi’s illustrations are the centerpiece of The New York Times Knowledge Network‘s fall campaign. The cheerful, uplifting illustrations embody the campaign’s message that the New York Times Knowledge Network offers everything you need to further your career and inspire you.

The campaign, which just launched, includes newspaper ads, online banners and this animated spot.

Since 2007, The New York Times Knowledge Network has been offering a wide range of adult and continuing education opportunities in areas as rich and varied as the Times itself. Some programs are offered directly by The Times, while others are presented in collaboration with universities, colleges and other educational institutions. This fall debuts the New York Times Programs of Study, which includes courses developed and taught by Times journalists.

Sauvage for Young, Loaded & Fabulous

Marguerite Sauvage illustrated for the French-translations of Kate Kingley’s Young, Loaded and Fabulous series, published by Calmann-Lévy. The series, which is being called a UK version of Gossip Girl, follows a wealthy group of English private school students as they deal with friendship, gossip and jealousy, while partying in London’s private members clubs, jetting off to Paris for the weekend and wearing the latest designer fashions.

Red Nose + Angie’s List Win Awards

Red Nose Studio and Angie’s List recently won three American Graphic Design Awards for their February, August and October covers. Writer Ingrid Cummings’ Arts & Entertainment feature on Red Nose Studio also won an award for layout.

The American Graphic Design Awards is the four decade old flagship competition for Graphic Design USA and is open to everyone in the graphic arts community. It honors outstanding new work in 23 categories from print and packaging to internet and interactive design.
