Red Nose + Blasted Church @ SFMOMA

Red Nose Studio’s award-winning labels for Blasted Church Vineyards are being featured at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art as part of their current exhibition, How Wine Became Modern: Design + Wine 1976 to Now. It runs until Sunday, April 17th, 2011.

The exhibition examines how architecture, design and media have contributed to the visual culture of wine. Developed in collaboration with the New York architecture studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the exhibition features historical artifacts, architectural models, multimedia installations, newly commissioned artworks and even a “smell wall,” presenting wine as you’ve never seen it before.

Hennie Haworth illustrated for UK-based high-end supermarket retailer, Waitrose. Her festive hand-lettering can be seen on Waitrose’s exclusive line of holiday goodies, such as Dundee Cake and Orange Panettone Pudding.

Bagayan for Jane & the Raven King

Ana Bagayan illustrated the cover of Stephen Chambers’ upcoming book Jane & the Raven King (Sourcebooks). The book, which is described as a cross between The Spiderwick Chronicles and Alice in Wonderland, tells the story of Jane, a young girl who travels with her younger brother to a magical land at the center of the world. With the help of a cat-person called Gaius and a dragon named Finn, Jane learns that she is the only one who can defeat an evil king bent on destroying civilization. The book is available for pre-order now.

Garbage Barge Makes The New York Times’ Top Ten

Here Comes the Garbage Barge! (Schwartz + Wade), written by Jonah Winter and illustrated by Red Nose Studio, was named one of the year’s top ten illustrated children’s books by The New York Times Book Review. Annually since 1952, The New York Times has asked a panel of judges to select ten winners from the several thousand children’s books published throughout the year.

This year’s panel includes Robert Sabuda, a co-creator of the best-selling Encyclopedia Prehistorica series and twice the recipient of a Times Best Illustrated award; Elizabeth Bird, a children’s librarian with the New York Public Library, whose first picture book, Giant Dance Party, is due out next year; and David Barringer, a novelist and designer who is the author of There’s Nothing Funny About Design.

Pilar’s Papyrus Cards Go Couture

Project Runway alum, Rami Kashou, collaborated with Papyrus in creating this awesomely beautiful origami couture gown made entirely out of Papyrus greeting cards and paper goods. The event was part of Fashion’s Night Out in Los Angeles, CA and if you look closely, you can spot several of Bella’s cards woven in there!

Roumieu to Judge SI 53

Graham Roumieu was invited be a judge at the Society of Illustrators 53rd Annual Exhibition in New York City. The goal of the 53rd annual is to recognize the highest standard of illustration and to excite and inspire excellence in future work. He is honored to be judging the Sequential/Series category alongside some of the most talented and distinguished illustrators and art directors in America.

Pilar for Vogue Mexico’s Shopping Experience

Bella Pilar illustrated for Vogue Mexico’s Shopping Experience in Polanco, Mexico City. The one-day shopping event takes place on Masaryk Avenue, one of Mexico’s most luxurious neighborhoods. Guests are invited to explore the area’s chic boutiques, with participating retailers offering exclusive promotions and activities. It takes place on Thursday, November 11th, 2010.

Bella’s fashionable femmes can be seen in advertorials in the Mexican editions of Vogue, Glamour and AD magazine, as well as on various promotional materials, including these cute t-shirts and tote bags.
