He spoke about his career in illustration, his beginnings at Microsoft and XBOX, and about his sources of inspiration. “Everyone’s background adds unique perspective to their work. Hennie Haworth recently illustrated for Systembolaget, a Swedish chain of alcohol retailers. Her illustrations are part of an in-store campaign promoting a series of wine and dine tips from the company’s own wine and food experts. The first in the series can be seen below.

Ronca: Drawn In

Catell Ronca is one of 44 artists featured in Julia Rothman’s recently released book Drawn In: A Peek Into the Inspiring Sketchbooks of 44 Fine Artists, Illustrators, Graphic Designers and Cartoonists (Quarry Books). In the book, each of the high-profile artists share their personal sketchbooks where they brainstorm, doodle, develop and work on ideas, capturing the artist’s personalities and offering a glimpse into their creative process and inspirations.

Roumieu’s Corporate Knights

Graham Roumieu illustrated a three-part guide to corporate responsibility for Corporate Knights magazine. Corporate Knights promotes clean capitalism and seeks to humanize the marketplace. Graham’s witty illustrations ran in their 35th issue, as part of their 2011 Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada feature.

Haworth’s Recent Editorial Work

Hennie Haworth recently illustrated for some of Britian’s most widely-read publications.

Her work appeared in Stella magazine’s article 40 Thrifty Style Tips, which featured ideas from different fashion designers – like Nicole Farhi, Jo Malone, and Roksanda Ilinic – for chic-but-cheap living. Stella magazine is a supplement to the Sunday Telegraph.

Hennie also illustrated a series of plant life, animals and insects for a two-part feature on British plants and animals for Saturday’s edition of the Guardian and Sunday’s edition of the Observer.

Williams’ Rainbow Sheet Music for Olivelse

Nate Williams illustrated these limited-edition Rainbow Sheet Music cushions for French company, Olivelse. The ukulele-shaped pillows are available in Pink and Silver or Yellow and Silver and are made of 100% cotton, hand screenprinted with water-based inks.

Graham collaborates with Ramsay Inc.

RamsayInc.com launched yesterday and features work by Graham Roumieu. The site is the online portfolio of speechwriter, book editor, and communications strategist Bob Ramsay. Graham illustrated the graphic elements found throughout the site, including the Pan figure seen below.

Jessie Joins Magnet Reps Staff

We’re pleased to announce that Jessie Kim has joined us to work in the Magnet Reps office.

Jessie is a Los Angeles native who graduated with honors from Dartmouth College where she majored in art history and minored in film studies. She also studied abroad at the University of Barcelona and speaks Spanish, French, and Korean. Her background includes coordination, production, graphic design and curatorial work with a number of galleries in Los Angeles, as well as writing and photography for magazines such as American Contemporary Art. She is a skilled graphic designer and writer with experience in publicity, events and promotion.  Her interests include: photography, bicycles, yoga, and the musical stylings of Barbra Streisand.

Ronca: The Best of Cover Design

Catell Ronca’s cover illustration for John Mullan’s book Anonymity: A Secret History of English Literature was chosen to be in Rockport’s recently released title The Best of Cover Design. Compiled by San Francisco’s Altitude Associates, the book features about 350 covers, each chosen for their initial visual impact and effectiveness in conveying the message within. It is available now.

Haworth for Paul McCartney’s Deluxe Edition

Hennie Haworth’s illustrated for Paul McCartney’s recently released McCartney II Deluxe Edition Box Set.
Her illustrations can be seen in an animated documentary by London-based animation studio, Show + Tell, featuring audio commentary from Paul McCartney, as well as rare and never-before-seen footage of the Beatles. It is available now.
