Red Nose Studio's Duroc Pig

Red Nose Studio was commissioned to create an illustration celebrating a major scientific breakthrough in pig genetics. Scientists at the University of Illinois recently published a high-quality draft genome sequence for a female domestic Duroc pig, increasing the potential of the pig as a biomedical model for studying human disease. The team's lead scientist is a huge Pink Floyd fan and asked Chris to use the cover of their Animals album as inspiration for the piece. A large framed print of the artwork hangs in his office and each member of the team received a t-shirt with the art to commemorate the discovery.
